Germanwings was founded in 2002; in January 2006 the company had a fleet of 21 Airbus A319 and 3 Airbus A320 aircraft, of which the latter are mostly leased from Lufthansa. German Wings is the biggest low cost airline in NRW.
German Wings offers flights to over 70 destinations throughout Europe. They include destinations such as Reykjavik, Stockholm and St. Petersburg. In addition to popular holiday destinations such as the Balearic Islands, Greek Islands or the Canaries, the airline also fies to airports in the Balkans Skopje, Pristina and Sarajevo.
