The Air Transat’s fleet in November 2007 includes only aircraft by the manufacturer Airbus: 12 Airbus A310, 3 Airbus A330-200 and 1 Airbus A-300.
History
The airline Air Transat was established in December 1986 in Montreal by Canadian former employees of Quebecair. The airline primarily operates charter flights: in the winter, seasonal holiday flights to Central America, the Caribbean and South America; in the summer months, on the other hand, it serves destinations in Europe and Canada.
Network
The network of routes of Air Transat includes over 90 different destinations in more than 15 countries, which are served seasonally from the base in Montreal and the two hubs in Toronto and Vancouver. Destinations include Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Halifax in Canada, Acapulco and Cancun in Mexico, San Jose, Managua and Panama City in Central America, Varadero, Puerto Plata, Montego Bay and Fort-de-France in the Caribbean, as well as Frankfurt, Vienna, Paris, Athens, Rome, Lisbon and London in Europe.
