History
The French-Polynesian airline Air Tahiti Nui was launched on 31 October 1996 by the government and some investors in the capital Papeete in order to promote tourism in the country. The airline only began providing normal flight operations 2 years later, on 20 th November 1998.
Network
The airline flies regularly from its base in Papeete to the international airports in Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles, New York, Osaka, Tokyo and Paris.
