Take the metro from Singapore International Airport into the city centre for roughly 2 SGD. The journey takes only about 30 minutes. There's also a bus which takes around 60 minutes, while taxis cost approximately 30 SGD during the day and at night 50% more. Singapore hotel accommodation will cost you around 30 SGD. Check out recommended accommodation areas like Little India, Chinatown, Geylang or in and around Arab Street. Public transport in Singapore is also quite cheap. For the transport system, the EZ link Singapore Tourist Pass is are a good idea. These are rechargeable chip cards for cheap fares on the metro and buses. Taxi prices are higher especially at night and during the rush hour. Travelling around by public transport is ideal to see the island's many attractions like Singapore Zoo, the Botanic Gardens, Underwater World, Peranakan Museum or the Sri Mariamman Temple.
