Tips and tricks to help you find cheap flights from Dhaka to Bangkok
Useful information about the flight from Dhaka to Bangkok
An Energetic and Vibrant Southeast Asian Capital
Bangkok attracts millions of visitors from around the world by offering people distinct features to explore during their stay. As the vibrant capital of Thailand, Bangkok presents a bustling and energetic hub with impressive historical architecture, upscale malls, a renowned floating market, and spectacular skyscrapers.
Recommended travel dates for climate, holidays and festivals
The best time to enjoy Bangkok's climate is from December to April, as the monsoon season occurs from June to November. Travellers will enjoy visiting Bangkok during Thailand's holidays and festival season. Loi Krathong or the Festival of Light, one of the most colourful Thai celebrations usually takes place in November. Chinese New Year's celebration or Wan Trut Chin is celebrated in February by Thailand's large Chinese population. The Songkran Festival officially celebrates the Thai new year from April 13-15. Public holidays are based on the lunar calendar and vary from year to year.
Basics about Bangkok
British nationals with a valid passport for at least six months from date of entry do not require a visa for a stay of up to 30 days in Thailand. Prior to your trip, the following vaccinations are recommended: Hepatitis A, Typhus, Tetanus, Dyphtheria, Rabies, Malaria prophylaxis (ask your GP).
Avoid displays of any negative emotions including anger when in Thailand, as it is considered rude. Compared to the UK the price of food is much lower in Thailand. Generally, the cost of living in Thailand is also lower than the UKs. Thailand's time zone is GMT+7 and there is no summertime.
Local Bangkok transport and where to stay
The Airport Rail Link is a reasonable transportation alternative that makes regular stops at Bangkok International Airport with direct access to the terminal. The direct train route or the BKK to central Bangkok with Airport Link Express costs approximately 100THB, change here or take a taxi. The Airport City Line (with stops) is slightly cheaper but takes longer.
Accommodations start at about 360 THB upwards. Popular hotel areas include Sukhumvit Road Area, Chinatown, and Khao-San-Road Area. While public transportation is cheap, it is hard to understand. The Bangkok Metro is cheap and local taxis are accessible, fast and affordable. Tuk-tuks are considered expensive and tourist traps.
