London Southend Airport

London Southend Airport is a regional south-eastern airport in the county of Essex in the small town of Rochford. Despite its location in Essex, the airport counts as one of the 6 airports in the metropolitan area of Greater London. The airport is particularly well suited for pilot training as well as cargo and charter flights. According to the latest predictions, it is one of the fastest-growing airports in the United Kingdom with Easyjet due to start operating flights from Southend to several European airports in 2012 including Malaga, Ibiza and Faro. The expansion of the airport is being timed to coincide with the 2012 London Olympics to facilitate travel to the Olympic village.
