Manila Ninoy Aquino International airport, also called Manila International Airport, is the most important and largest airport in the south-east Asian Republic of the Philippines, a country in the Western Pacific, which consists of approximately 7100 islands, of which only about 900 are permanently inhabited. First in use in 1937, the airport is about 10 miles south of the city centre, directly on the South Super Highway # 1. The inexpensive metro buses operate a regular service between the airport and Manila City; there are also plenty of taxis at the airport. There are plans to construct a station at the airport.
