Inverness airport is the largest of the ten airports in the highlands of Scotland. More than 330 aircraft start and land at the airport every week.

The airport is the main hub for northern destinations in the United Kingdom and the airport is managed by the Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL), which has taken over the management of all other airports in the Highlands. There are regular regional air connections to all surrounding commercial airports and aerodromes, such as Kirkwall, Stornoway, Wick, Sumburgh and Benbecula. National connections also exist to many UK airports with flights to London, Manchester and Belfast for example. Low cost flights are operated to Inverness for example from London-Luton
