Gold Coast Airport is one of the 10 busiest airports in Australia. It is near the coastal town of Coolangatta in Queensland and is also still known by its former name of Coolangatta Airport. The airports name was officially changed in 1999. The entire Gold Coast from Surfers Paradise in the north to Coolangatta / Tweed Heads in the south during the high season, October to March is the largest tourist hot spot of the entire Australian continent.

Location
The airport is located about 2.5 km or 1.5 miles west of Coolangatta in Bilinga. The entrance to the airport is directly on the Gold Coast Highway (Highway 2). Trans-Link operates a regular bus 765 between the airport and Robina Railway Station, where it is possible to catch trains to Brisbane. There are also regular bus services for example to Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta or the Bus Station “Southport Transit Centre” for example with the bus numbers 700 and 760. Alternatively, please take a taxi or rent a car.
